Tales of Second Chances, Pakistan
In the heart of Karachi, amidst the noise and chaos of daily life, there stands a sanctuary for the city’s forgotten felines—a place of refuge founded by the remarkable Madiha Khatri. With boundless compassion and dedication, Madiha cares for over 150 cats, many of whom have nowhere else to turn.
Among her feline residents, around 30 have special needs—some are blind, others are paralyzed, or have lost limbs—but each one is treated with love, care, and respect. Every month, Madiha’s shelter also takes in about 20 new cases, providing medical treatment and returning these animals to their original caretakers, who may not have the means to afford necessary care.
Alongside cats, Madiha also cares for 50 birds, ensuring that every creature in her care receives the attention it needs. It’s a mission fueled by compassion, where every life matters, and every story deserves a chance to be rewritten.
