In the heart of Karachi, amidst the noise and chaos of daily life, there stands a sanctuary for the city’s forgotten felines — a refuge founded by the remarkable Madiha Khatri. With boundless compassion and dedication, Madiha cares for over 150 cats, many of whom have nowhere else to turn.

Around 30 of her residents have special needs — some are blind, others paralysed or missing limbs — but each one is treated with love, care, and respect. Every month the shelter takes in about 20 new cases, providing medical treatment and returning these animals to caretakers who cannot afford the care themselves. Madiha also looks after 50 birds, making sure every creature in her care gets the attention it needs.
